Mrs. Catherine Blunt Hill of Green Street Crescent, Boykins, Virginia departed this life July 26, 2012 in her home. “Puddin”, as she was affectionately known was born in Hertford County, North Carolina on June 23, 1932 to Rufus and Pattie L. Barham Blunt.
In 2003, Catherine retired from Narricot Industries as an inspector. She was a member of Rising Star Baptist Church where she once served on the Missionary Ministry and the Senior Choir.
She is survived by three daughters, Shelvy Davis (Keith), Dora Hill, Pastor Beulah Deloatch; seven sons, Elois (Agnes), Mark, Arthur (OBeatrice), Benjamin (Shelby), Rufus (Charnetta), Melvin, Nathaniel (Bernette); one brother, Herbert Blunt, Jr., thirty-five grandchildren, forty-one great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren; and many other relatives.
A homegoing service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, August 1, 2012, Rising Star Baptist Church, 30277 Little Texas Road, Branchville, Virginia, with the pastor, Reverend Willie Dickerson. The committal and benediction is in the church cemetery.
